                                              Evening bells evening bells,

                                  How many a stroy you've got to tell Of youth

                                        and home and that sweet time,

                                        When last I heard your soothing chime

                                        Those lovely days they are past away,

                                         And many a heart that then was gay

                                        Within the tomb now darkly dwells

                                         And no more to hear ev'ning bells.

                                         And so it will be when I am gone,

                                         That tunefull sound will still ring on

                                        While other bards will walk with these bells

                                         And sing your praise sweet ev'ning bells.

                                         Ev'ning bells, ev'ning bells,

                                         How many a stroy you've got

                                                    저녁 종소리, 저녁 종소리,

                                        너희는 알려야 할 이야기를 얼마나 많이 전했니

                                                젊음을, 집을, 그 아름다운 시간을,

                                           내가 마지막 너희 달래주는 종소리 들었을 때.

                                             그 종소리 사라진 아름다웠던 지난 날들,

                                                    그때는 많은 마음들이 즐거워했지

                                                지금은 어둠의 무덤 속에서 지내기에

                                                  더 이상 저녁 종소리 들을 수 없네

                                                   그러니 내가 떠나도 그리될 턴데

                                                  선율이 아름다운 소리 계속 울리리

                                            또 다른 시인들이 이 종소리 함께 걸을테니

                                           너희 아름다운 찬양 저녁 종소리를 울려다오
